Welcome to the RiP Rac Rod Storage Review. Those who know me know well will know that I’m very picky when it comes to my fishing gear. The brands and models I choose, the maintenance and general upkeep as well as the storage. The organisation of my fishing gear is a critical component of having a busy lifestyle juggling many different fishing platforms.
It’s for that reason that I have always valued rod storage systems to stay organised. This week I came across an instant rod storage solution by the team at Rip Rac. An Australian made product that allows you to store 5 fishing rods unassembled using 2 straps and Velcro tabs which can be hung from your wall. The Rip Rack rod storage solution cost $39.95 + $4.95 postage. The order arrived within 48 hours and included 2 x screw-in wall hanging hooks, 2 x 175 mm ready to hang Straps ( each tab holds up to 2kg, Using reinforced stitching and Coloured tabs for easy release ) and some double Velcro tabs to fasten them down.

The screw-in hooks are stored within the Velcro tabs. There are instructions added with the packed that show this.
The installation is very simple. Screw the 2 hooks into the wall at the same height. In my case, I installed them 200mm high and 130mm apart.
From here I simply place the metal ring at the end of each strap onto the hooks and fastened the ends down using the small double-sided velcro straps which fasten to the wall.
The process literally took 5 minutes. From here I loaded up 5 of my fishing rods and secured them using the Velcro tabs. It’s an easy rod storage solution, that didn’t require any complex installation and only required 2 small holes. The rods with reels attached felt quite secure and with a little bit of fiddling quite neat and tucked away. It meant my gear was off the floor and in a room I was happy with.

- Should have screws in a more visible place
- Could do with some simple instructions to identify the parts what they are used for, and why items may be unused.
